Pyramid of Arts Making It Happen Arts Worker Training

Pyramid of Arts is an arts organisation which promotes individual well-being and social inclusion through active engagement in the arts.

Pyramid of Arts workers draw on over nineteen years' experience of facilitating collaborative arts projects. Projects bring together professional artists, people with severe learning disabilities and associated physical and sensory impairments alongside those in the community who have, or wish to develop, an active involvement in the arts.

Making It Happen is a practical course for arts practitioners working in community settings and is an exciting opportunity for artists from all mediums to explore ways of:

  • facilitating creative choices
  • communicating ideas
  • involving people of all abilities in arts projects
  • developing and sustaining long term projects

This part-time modular course is aimed at arts practitioners working with people with learning disabilities in arts projects or college courses in the arts. It is a required training for core arts workers with Pyramid of Arts.

Places are by application and interview. Places are limited to 12 per course.

The next modular course starts in January and will be completed by the end of July 2009.

LOCATION: Leeds city centre.

COURSE FEES: £400. Concessions available for low income/unwaged. Grants may be available for suitably qualified external employees. POA free.

Keyring Vacancy

There will soon be a vacancy for a member in the Morley Network and over the next few months there could potentially be 2 vacancies in the Chapeltown Network.

As Keyring strives to have a balance in their networks - priority will be given to female applicants as females are under represented across the networks - this does not mean that we are excluding males from applying.
